Anastasia BellonePortrait Photographer in Los Angeles

Portraits made with patience, natural light, and a great deal of care for how it feels to be in front of a camera.

Anastasia Bellone is a portrait photographer based in Los Angeles, California, specializing in family sessions, maternity portraits, boudoir and portrait sessions, and children’s headshots.

How I photograph

I work almost entirely in natural light, and most sessions happen outdoors or in your own home rather than in a studio. I do not line people up and count to three. I give you something to do — walk toward me, say something to your daughter, hold each other — and photograph what happens in between. The in-between is nearly always where the picture is. It is why the words on the front of this site are capturing the light within: the light outside is only half of it.

The other half of the job is making the camera easy to be around. Most people arrive convinced they are not photogenic and unsure what to do with their hands. That is completely normal, and it is my job rather than yours. Every session is directed as it goes, so you will never be left standing there guessing.

What a session looks like

Every session begins with a pre-session consultation covering wardrobe, location, and styling, so nothing is a surprise on the day. A retainer secures your date, with the balance due on the day of the session — the booking terms set out the exact amounts. Afterwards I select and edit the strongest images from the day and deliver your gallery within 10 days, along with a private selection gallery where you can choose five more — in case there is a moment you loved that I passed over.

Where I work

I am based in Los Angeles, California and photograph sessions across the Los Angeles area, outdoors and in clients’ homes. Studio sessions, including the STUDIO MAX portrait package, are photographed in a photo studio.

On pricing

Session pricing is published in full on this site rather than hidden behind an enquiry form. Sessions start at $395. You should be able to work out whether a photographer fits your budget without having to ask, and you should know exactly what is included before you book — how long the session runs, how many outfits, how many edited images, and when the gallery arrives.
