FamilyPhotography in Los Angeles
Celebrate the bonds that matter most. From playful moments to quiet embraces, family sessions capture the authentic love and joy that define your unique story.
Family photography sessions with Anastasia Bellone take place across Los Angeles, either outdoors or in your own home. A MINI session runs up to 30 minutes and includes 25 professionally edited images; a STANDARD session runs up to an hour, allows a second outfit, and includes 40 edited images. Every session begins with a pre-session consultation covering wardrobe, location, and styling, and your edited gallery is delivered within 10 days.
What a family session looks like
Nobody is lined up and asked to say cheese. Sessions are built around gentle prompts — walk toward me, whisper something to your daughter, pick her up — so that the photographs come from what happens in between the poses. That approach works particularly well with young children, who tend to relax the moment the pressure to perform is removed. If your toddler needs ten minutes to warm up, that is a normal part of the session rather than a problem with it.
Choosing a time and place in Los Angeles
Most family sessions are photographed in the hour or so before sunset, when the light is soft and low and the harsh overhead shadows of midday have gone. Los Angeles adds its own rhythm to this: mornings near the coast are often flat and grey through late spring and early summer, while inland locations hold warm light later into the evening. Outdoor sessions are weather-dependent and are rescheduled if conditions are unsafe. In-home sessions are a good alternative for very young children, and for families who would rather be somewhere familiar.
What to wear
Choose two or three colours that sit comfortably together rather than matching outfits exactly, and favour solid mid-tones over busy patterns or large logos, which pull the eye away from faces. Layers and natural fabrics photograph well because they hold their shape and move. The MINI package allows one outfit and STANDARD allows two, so if you want a change of look, plan it in advance. Wardrobe is one of the things covered in the pre-session consultation, so bring options and questions.
Booking a family session
A non-refundable $150 retainer reserves your date, with the balance due on the day of the session. Rescheduling after booking carries a $50 fee, and at least 48 hours notice is requested. After the session, the strongest images are selected and edited, and you also receive a private selection gallery where you can choose 5 additional images; anything beyond those is $20 each.
