Children’s headshot sessions with Anastasia Bellone are photographed in Los Angeles for child actors, models, and performers, starting at $395. A MINI session runs up to 30 minutes with one outfit and 25 professionally edited images; a STANDARD session runs up to an hour with two to three outfits and 40 edited images. Galleries are delivered within 10 days.

A children’s headshot is a working photograph, not a keepsake. Where a family portrait is about the feeling of a moment, a headshot has a job to do: it needs to look like your child as they are right now, hold a clear and natural expression, and read well at small sizes in a casting profile. That means clean light, a simple background, and genuine expression rather than a held smile. The result should be polished but unmistakably them.
What casting professionals look for
The single most important quality is that the photograph is current. Children change quickly, and a headshot that no longer matches the child who walks into the room works against them. Beyond that: eyes sharp and engaged with the camera, natural skin and hair rather than heavy retouching, a background that does not compete for attention, and a range of expressions across the set — warm and open for commercial work, more grounded and neutral for dramatic roles. Casting platforms each publish their own current image specifications, so it is worth checking your child’s profile requirements before the session.
Preparing your child for the session
Choose simple, well-fitting clothes in solid colours — no slogans, characters, or busy patterns, which date a photograph and pull focus from the face. Bring two or three tops that give genuinely different looks rather than variations of the same one. Schedule around your child’s energy rather than your own convenience: a well-rested child photographs better than a tired one at a more convenient hour. Keeping the atmosphere light matters more than rehearsing, and no amount of practising a smile beats a child who is actually enjoying themselves.
Booking a headshot session
A non-refundable $150 retainer reserves your date, with the balance due on the day. If your child is on submission with an agency, allow time for the 10-day gallery delivery when planning around deadlines. Only your child’s first name is ever used if any name is mentioned at all, and decisions about tagging on social media are always left to parents.
